Louise Ruskin is an education professional with thirty years’ experience in the sector and is a specialist in the field of Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE). Louise has worked and lived in several countries around the world including a decade throughout the GCC. She began her career as a primary school teacher in London and went on to move overseas living in Turkey, Hungary and Kazakhstan, gaining extensive experience in leading and managing early childhood settings, teacher training and supporting private sector companies in managing schools and developing strategy. Louise moved into the public sector almost a decade ago. In the GCC Louise has experience working in Qatar, KSA, Kuwait and the UAE. She worked within a Ministry of Education in the GCC project managing the first public nursery and providing support to develop national ECCE systems and procedures. In her most recent role as senior education consultant with the World Bank Group, she has worked on a range of education issues in the GCC, with a focus on providing technical support and advice to governments on ECCE policy, strategy and initiatives. The breadth and depth of experience Louise has in the education sector, particularly in the field of ECCE, gives her ability to understand educational issues from a range of stakeholder perspectives. Whether working at macro or micro level Louise maintains the child as central to her work.

Louise has a Bachelor of Education from Anglia University, and an MA in Education and International Development from the Institute of London UCL. Her areas of interest are national level ECCE system development, teacher training and school leadership.
