It was a really interesting module. I have learned a lot.
Experienced teachers often appreciate the opportunity to make the step from teacher to trainer, but there are a very limited number of short courses available that can help them to do this. Following requests from past CAT and CSLT trainees for ‘trainer training’, Corinium have developed our own Trainer Training for Language Teachers (TTT) course to help fill this important gap in the teacher education and professional development marketplace.
TTT is an approximately 24-hour long short-course with both theoretical (Part A) and practical (Part B) components, which provides participants with an opportunity to think about their own experiences and apply the knowledge gained to the process of training others.
TTT is therefore based upon developing the educational experiences of trainers in training and encouraging them to reflect on previous and existing practice. Sessions take the form of theoretical input encouraging discussion between participants and course trainers. Group work and practical tasks are included to raise awareness of training program design and the potential impact that this has on trainee teachers and their learners.
