Kathy Swords is an Integrative Counsellor, accredited by the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP), and a Senior Level Coach Practitioner accredited by the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC). She has extensive experience working in schools in the UK, Europe and the Middle East, firstly as a teacher and, for the last fifteen years, as a counsellor, coach and consultant. Kathy has developed her own therapeutic model, supported by a range of adapted\/tailor-made interventions, that allows her to work effectively across the coaching\/counselling continuum to meet the needs of schools\u2019 diverse communities.<\/p>\n
Kathy understands the value of working with adults who share a role in supporting young people. She believes that knowledgeable support leads to better outcomes. Kathy provides a variety of high-quality, research and experience-based CPD opportunities, including presentations and workshops, designed to deepen staff understanding. These sessions aim to establish effective support systems that address needs and challenges with efficiency and impact.<\/p>\n
Kathy is passionate about shining a light on Mental Health and Wellbeing in Schools and Universities. She has spoken at numerous conferences, including the Families in Global Transition Conference Amsterdam, Dubai Psychological Conference, Pastoral Care and Wellbeing Conference Qatar and the MENA Inclusion and Wellbeing Summit, Dubai. She has provided consultancy services for Shell Outpost, Hamad Hospital and the International Schools Group in Saudi Arabia. Kathy is now based in the UK, currently working in Private Practice at EXPAT YP, whilst continuing to pursue her career in consultancy.<\/p>\n
